Course Overview:
This EMT course is designed to prepare students for a career in the field of pre-hospital patient care. The course provides approximately 200 classroom hours with 48 hours of EMS clinical rotation. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be eligible to take the National Registry Exam. Upon receiving the NREMT certification, the participant will be eligible for licensure in the State of Michigan as an EMT. Students will have specified uniform attire while in the classroom and clinical rotations.
Cost of the course includes uniform shirt, clinical ID badges, AAOS EMT Book, access to Platinum’s EMS testing and computer adaptive testing.
Course Location: Central Huron Ambulance Hall, 291 E. Soper, Bad Axe
Class Dates: Nov 1, 2022 – March 28, 2023; 6 p.m.-10p.m. (some scheduled Sat’s 8-5p)
Mandatory Orientation and CPR training: Tues, Nov 1, 5:30p-10p
Application Fee: $100 Non-Refundable
In County Cost: $1,500 tuition paid for by grant funding
Out of County Cost: $1,500
Pre-requisites:
· Must be at least 18 years old to apply for a Michigan license after successful course completion
· Must have a high school diploma or GED
· Valid Driver’s License
· No felony convictions
· Negative two step TB test or IGRA (QuantiFERON Blood test)
· Proof of up-to date vaccinations or Titers at your cost.
· Physical clearance or record of no restrictions for course expectations with lifting and moving patients
· HealthCare Provider CPR (will be provided at orientation)
· Pre-requisites due by November 3, 2022
