Central Huron Ambulance Service is an approved initial education satellite location for the State of Michigan through Sanilac Medical Control Authority. This means that instructors affiliated with Sanilac Medical Control Authority can teach initial EMS courses. These include: Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B), and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) courses. In 2015, we also received CE Sponsorship approval through the State of Michigan. This allows us to teach continuing education at Central Huron Ambulance Service. We currently have several Instructor-Coordinators (ICs), and offer continuing education on both a monthly and annual basis. Central Huron Ambulance Service currently sponsors 2 CE Practical days per year. We also work in conjunction with the Fire Department to provide an annual extrication course. Additionally, our educators are all certified American Heart Association CPR instructors and offer CPR courses on an as needed basis. Central Huron Ambulance educators also bring in out-side resources to offer specialty classes which include: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), and Michigan Agriculture Accident Rescue Systems (MAARS) courses.
For those interested in learning more about EMS, we do offer an opportunity for participation in our Ride-Along Program. Applicants are subject to approval. Please contact us for details.
