Advantages of working for Central Huron Ambulance Service includes flexible schedules with ability to work 12 or 24-hour shifts. Housing, including kitchen and laundry, is available to crew members if you live outside the area. Continuing Education opportunities are available through the service at no cost to the employee. Under specific circumstances, Central Huron Ambulance Service does provide tuition, or reimbursement, for EMS courses. This involves pre-approval from the Central Huron Ambulance Board, and a signed contract. New employees are provided with an orientation period, where they will be paired with a Field Training Officer (FTO) for a specified time. Central Huron Ambulance Service provides their employees with updated ambulances and state of the art equipment, including: power cots, a bariatric cot, Lifepak 15s, LVT 1200 Vent, LUCAS devices, and the EZ IO. Employees also have access to updated training equipment, including a STAT man manikin. Training is provided on all equipment.
